| Jacombs
Racing was born in 1978 with Dave Jacombs being the primary
driver for his own team. Dave started his career racing in the
Ontario Amateur Racing Club (O.A.R.C.) at Flamboro Speedway.
Over the next several years Dave raced at tracks in the O.A.R.C.
all over Southern Ontario and the North Central United States.
In 1982 Jacombs Racing would field an entry in the Street Stock
division at a local track, Flamboro Speedway. After two years
of that, he was lured back to the O.A.R.C. where he would compete
until 1991 winning over 40 races.
In 1992 Jacombs Racing again changed focus and entered a car
in the NASCAR Pro Modified Tour at Holland Speedway in New York.
Over the years Jacombs Racing has prided itself on the many
?Best Appearing? car awards they have received in all different
classes of cars.
In 1994, Jacombs Racing stepped it up a notch and entered the
former CASCAR Super Series where they fielded a Ford Thunderbird.
Over the next several years Jacombs Racing would enjoy factory
support from Ford Motor Company, a sponsorship that has kept
him loyal to the brand all these years later.
In 2006, a changing of the guard started to emerge when Jacombs
himself stepped out of the race car at a few events and put
drivers such as Robin Buck, Patrick Carpentier and Andrew Ranger
in the No. 88 Jacombs Racing Taurus. Over the winter discussions
ensued and it was announced that Andrew Ranger would be the
primary driver of the now #27 Jacombs Racing entry in the new
NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (formerly CASCAR Super Series) in
2007.
Jacombs Racing under team owner Dave Jacombs, with Andrew Ranger
at the wheel, and the No. 27 Wal-Mart/Tide racing team went
on to win the 2007 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Championship.
A first championship at this level for Jacombs Racing.
2008 sees a new challenge for Dave Jacombs and his team as they
prepare a full-time two team entry in the NASCAR Canadian Tire
Series. Andrew Ranger returns to defend his championship in
the No. 27 Wal-Mart/Tide Ford Fusion, while newcomer to the
series and former Champ Car veteran Alex Tagliani will join
them in his No. 7 Ubisoft/Wal-Mart Ford Fusion.
