5th place finish puts Alex Tagliani tied for series lead in points !

Round 3 of the 2022 NASCAR Pinty’s season at Autodrome Chaudiere

Montréal, June 12th, 2022 –
Canadian driver Alex Tagliani, of Lachenaie, Quebec finished with a solid 5th place finish following Saturday’s round 3 of the 2022 NASCAR Pinty’s Series held at Autodrome Chaudiere, the quarter mile bullring located at Vallee-Jonction, Quebec.

After a strong qualifying run, Tagliani started the race from the fourth spot. Tag spent the first half of the QWICK WICK 250 Presented By St. Hubert battling Kevin Lacroix of St. Eustache, Quebec and Donald Theetge of Boischatel, Quebec for the 6th and 7th spots on track. At intermission, Tagliani’s pit crew made some good adjustments to the 22Racing Team #18 VIAGRA – St-Hubert Chevrolet Camaro and Tagliani was able to stay out of trouble on the tricky ¼ mile track and come away with a well deserved top 5.

Adam Ranger of Roxton Pond, Quebec took the checkered flag followed by teammate Marc-Antoine Camirand of St. Leonard d’Aston, Quebec. DJ Kennington of St. Thomas, Ontario finished third, LP Dumoulin of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec came in fourth and Tagliani rounded out the top 5. Twenty-three cars started the 250 lap event that ended with a green white checker finish having eleven cars finishing on the lead lap.

“Great effort from the team. They made some good changes at the break to bring the car to a higher level. There were some very strong cars in the field today. Towards the end, the yellows didn’t fall to our advantage. I think we had the pace to fight for a top 3 finish, but when guys were running 2 by two it was difficult because both the top and bottom were blocked. A big thank you to Qwick Wick for their support of the race and their presence at the track, this marked the launch of our Tag 4 packs on the Canadian market. With the camping season starting full steam we were happy to show the product to the amazing Quebec fans.

“Overall, it was a great race. A good points day when you finish top 5 in a race like this and you come away with the car in decent shape and only a little cosmetic damage.”

“I’m excited for the next round, a new track for everybody. Looks like it’s going to be a great event!”

“I’m very happy to be tied for the series lead and look forward to adding to our great finishes.”

In the driver standings, Alex Tagliani moves from third place to a tie for first.

The QwickWick 250 will air on TSN on Saturday, June 18 at 3 pm ET; it airs on RDS2 on Friday, June 27 at 8 pm ET.

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series heads next to Eastbound International Speedway on Saturday June 25 for the Pro Line 225 presented by QwickWick, the fourth race of the 2022 season.
