ILIE TRISTAN CRISAN WINS FROM THE POLE IN ROUND 3 OF COUPE DE MONTREAL KARTING RACE HELD SUNDAY IN ST-CELESTIN

Ilie Tristan Crisan on the false grid
Montreal, August 5, 2020 - TAG Motorsport's young protégé Ilie Tristan Crisan, scored his third consecutive win of the season in last weekend's Coupe de Montreal Class Cadet race. For the eight-year old, this victory also marked his first at the wheel of his brand new CRG Black Mirror kart. Round 3 was run on a wet and dry weekend at Circuit SC Performance in St-Celestin, Quebec. Following free practice, which was held under dry conditions on Saturday, the young Montreal driver won the pole on a wet Sunday morning which he followed up with a couple of wins in the pre-final and final races later that day.
"I am really pleased with the weekend results for CRG and by the superb performance of our young driver who was making his first start with the CRG machine," said Alex Tagliani. "Young Ilie performed really well under different weather conditions: dry on Saturday and wet on Sunday. He started Sunday by winning the pole under murky track conditions, and then followed that up with a couple of race wins on a wet track that was getting drier by the end of grand finale. Ilie followed all our instructions and did everything asked to beat the track conditions. He was tested under three different situations and performed well each time."
With the win, kart manufacturer CRG made a victorious return to Canada with TAG Motorsport who is their exclusive kart chassis dealer. CRG is a renowned Italian kart manufacturer that helped drivers Max Verstapen, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton make their way from racing CRG karts to Formula 1.
For the rest of the season, Tag Motorsports and Alex will supervise the development of this young driver with a tailor-made program. Alex is thrilled to renew his ties with CRG. He started his own racing career driving a CRG kart and is now proud to represent them in Canada as an importer.
The number 20 CRG Black Mirror is a group 3 kart chassis homologated by CIK-FIA and powered by a Briggs & Stratton LO206 engine.
